When I started back to school in 2005, I was anxious to get done. I planned to CLEP the humanities, social science, English, and Math classes as I hadn’t liked school in quite a while. Well, it turns out that I liked studying for tests on subjects I had no background in even less. I was so nervous about taking the tests that I ended up taking all the classes, thereby adding a year to the process. Well, I was surprised to find out that I actually enjoyed taking classes this time around – even the math classes that had so eluded me over the years – and I did very well in all my classes. My last grade was posted some time last night, and I am officially the receiver of an honors BS degree in Business/Information Systems!

What have I taken away from this process? I have been convinced that I can do whatever I put my mind to doing – and do it well. Here is a quote from my last instructor:

“Amy,
You are truly an outstanding student, and I would never get tired of giving you heart-felt Congratulations!!! You successfully completed this course with
highest honor.

You performed very well in each and every category, and you earned one of the
highest scores on the final exam.  Great job!  What an accomplishment!!!

Your work in the learning team was exemplary.  I also want you to know that I
recognize and greatly appreciate your positive contributions to class
discussions and your gracious comments about my facilitation!

It was truly a privilege and a great pleasure working with you during the past
five weeks, and I sincerely appreciate the opportunity.  I wish you the best!”

Now I am preparing to find an employer who wants a team player/leader, who wants someone who is not afraid to tackle the difficult, and who comes ready to work everyday!
